Heat Pumps
A “heat pump” is simply a general term for all HVAC units. Generally though, a heat pump is usually used in homes and buildings as a device to both heat and cool an area. They are designed to move thermal energy in the opposite direction it naturally moves (from warm to cold) by taking heat from the cooler location and moving it to the warmer one. Heat pumps are effective in both heating and cooling an area. Heat pumps are three to four times more efficient than electrical resistance heating.
